Description
If you have a dog that goes hunting or fishingwith you, but you
struggle
getting him/her back
in the boat
after
they jump in the
water, then
WAG Boarding Steps™ Model LM-6
is the solution for you and your dog.
Unlike dog boat ladders, ramps or platforms, WAG Boarding Steps Model LM-6 provide a pet-friendly, stable and easy-to-use method of getting from the water onto the boat (and from the boat into the water for dogs that do not want to jump in).
WAG Boarding Steps Model LM-6
is a set of steps designed to mount over the gunwale or transom lip of fishing or jon boats. The patent pending design incorporates reversible, modifiable hooks to mount over the top edge of the gunwale or transom and has independently adjustable struts to accommodate different hull shapes (angle/curvature). The 6-step design provides a vertical rise of 24" (bottom step to lip) to work effectively in locations with no more than 16" of freeboard. The 4" deep, flat steps with integral toe plate and 4" step height is suitable for dogs of all sizes and have a slip-resistant top surface. The "space-frame" design results in high open areas in all three directions to minimize the force and effects of surrounding water currents. They feature a collapsible design for transport and storage (approximately 42" L x 18" W x 5" D).
To work effectively, the mounting location should have:
a lip width of no more than 3-1/2" (hooks can be modified if a little wider)
a flat lip section at least 15" wide
no obstructions inside of the boat within 3-1/2" of the top of the lip (hooks can be modified if less than 3-1/2")
a freeboard (distance from top of lip to water level) of no more than 16" (less is better for bigger dogs)
WAG Boarding Steps Model LM-6
have a capacity of 130 pounds and are designed for
dog use only
. They weigh approximately 8 pounds and float, if dropped in the water. Steps are available in safety yellow, marsh grass tan or oak moss green. On safety yellow units, the aluminum struts and rivets are clear satin anodized with polished stainless hardware. On marsh grass tan and oak moss green units, the aluminum struts and rivets are black with black oxide stainless hardware.
The design of the unit is conducive to camouflaging and can be painted, if desired. Specify color when ordering.
