    Description:
    A beautiful polychrome painted shorebird decoy. This carved wood decoy is painted and shows the bird standing on a wooden base with its head pointing down. The bird has black painted eyes and an iron bill. The bird is attached to the base with an iron rod which acts as a leg. The bird is gray and off-white in color. The bird is well done and is marked on the bottom with burned letters which say "RICHARD MPORGAN MAKER" and has a small paper pamphlet which advertises Mr. Morgan's business THE PAINTED BIRD. A great looking piece which would make a great addition to your collection or can be used as a decorative accent in your shore cottage. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.

    Purchased at an estate sale in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

    The decoy measures ~9 1/2" long with the base being ~3 1/4" by 2 3/4" and piece is ~7 1/4" at its highest point. The piece weighs over 8.5 ounces.
