VERY RARE Vintage GIRL SCOUT ALTERNATE SENIOR UNIFORM-SKIRT-BLOUSE-TIE-HAT-1950

This is for a RARE Vintage ALTERNATE SENIOR UNIFORM. It is NOT the ALTERNATE INTERMEDIATE UNIFORM that was before the Cadette Uniform. In 1948 a new Senior Dress was introduced. After this one was introduced, many girls requested that a Skirt and Blouse be offered as an alternate to the one piece dress. Ever mindful that current styling is very important to a teenager, an Official Alternate Senior Uniform consisting of a white blouse and green skirt was introduced in the fall of 1950. The 6 Gored Skirt was trim fitting and made of medium dark green gabardine. It does not have the tab with logo on it. It has pockets fitted into each side seam and NON SLIP INNER WAISTBAND. It featured an ADJUSTABLE WAIST ZIPPER. Very Rare. The label tells the age with 2 long haired girls on it and more info than other labels. The white broadcloth blouse had a pocket strip with a green and yellow design and white trefoil buttons. on the Blouse are the World Association, Trefoil, 2 Membership Stars, 2 Senior Aide Bars and the Curved First Class Pin. It was suggested that the Scouts choose the same uniform for their troop so they would all look alike. There weren’t any Identification Strips yet-they were designed for Seniors in 1960. The Tie has Green Trefoil print on white acetate linen. The Hat was the Dark Green Overseas style with a Metal Trefoil Emblem sewn on . There was No Sash, Belt or Sox with this uniform. This uniform skirt has fade marks on the front and back -they show up a kind of faded red color. This is due to the material of the skirts at that time -rayon gabardine. It is in not too bad nice shaped considering the years. The Book is SENIOR GIRL SCOUTING and explains all about being a Senior. The book is from 1952 and is in fairly good shape but the binding is starting to come apart. About 6 pages are bent but are not torn off. .
