Description
Here we have an American Flyer #328 Lithographed tender for auction. It was made from 1907 until 1926 strictly with clockwork locomotives. From 1917 until 1926 it usually came with one set each year, the lowest price entry #0 set. This one was made from about 1919 to 1926. So the vast majority of these tenders were made before 1919 when the clockwork line was paramount. So today, these late (with garter loop couplers that were used after1918) #328 tenders, are actually rare and uncommon. This one has the spider web finish to the lithography which occurred over the many years since 1926.
#328 Tender:
Overall is G+(C5+) with playwear, some paint loss, and the unique spidery finish.
Please verify the condition with the photographs supplied. If you win this auction, you will receive the
# 328 Tender
as shown.
Very low starting bid and no reserve!
I have been collecting and researching American Flyer O & S Gauge for 46 years and TCA member since 1975. I strive to accurate describe the cosmetic condition of each item with TCA Grading Standards and the rarity and desirability by my long experience with these trains. When appropriate, I will grade all visible surfaces, or if they grade the same, I provide an overall condition grade. Also, I point out any reproduction parts that I recognize or any surface restoration that appears to not be original.
