SENIOR SERVICE [GIRL] SCOUTS
In 1941 Girl Scouts USA developed an incentive program for Senior Girl Scouts to become more actively involved in national defense activities for WWII.  After a training, they were awarded the SSS PATCH to put on their uniform.  In 1942 they could also purchase this hat with the same logo patch.  This is the only Garrison or Overseas HAT with the SSS patch that I have ever seen in my 40 years of collecting.  I have had it for decades. It seems to be NEW, the labels are intact even the size which is 21 1/2.  It is a heavy gabardine cotton.  This is a definite for the Girl Scout Memorabilia Collector or WWII Collector.  It is MUSEUM QUALITY.
