He was an early member of a forerunner to “Second City “ in Chicago. Shelley received 3 Gold Record rewards and the first Grammy Award for a recorded comedian in 1959. He played Larry’s father in Curb Your Enthusiasm appeared in several films-“You Don’t Mess With Zohan”, “Meer the Focker”. Shelley was in and TV episodes : The Twilight Zone”, “ Bewitched” and “Mary Tyler Moore”. Berman starred in a long list of Broadway stage productions during his career.
