POSTWAR LIONEL 1625 0-4-0 DIE CAST PRR STEAM SWITCHER WITH 1625T TENDERLOT DESCRIPTION:
As the title says this lot consists of one of the most desirable and hardiest to find of the Postwar 0-4-0 switches made by Lionel, the 1625, 0-4-0, Die Cast Pennsylvania Railroad steam switcher with the correct matching 1625T Tender that was made only in 1958. The locomotive has a operating headlight and fixed front plastic coupler and the tender has the AAR Trucks all of which is correct for this piece. Both pieces are all original Post War Lionel including all original paint, letters and numbers.
DESCRIPTION OF CONDITION:
The locomotive and tender are both in great shape. The loco casting is perfect, no breaks, cracks or chips. Both classification lights (often broken off) are there, the left one has had a slight repair (hardly noticeable). The front cowcatcher steps are fine. No rust or missing parts, great color, numbers nice and clear, drive rods and wheels all fine as is the front coupler. A slight ding area around the front headlight (hardly noticeable) and minor rubs here and there. The tender too looks fine, no cracks, breaks or chips on the shell, lettering crisp and clear. Again, a great looking set that IMHO I would rate as in C-7, excellent condition but look at the pictures and you be the judge for the pictures are an important part of the description and say more than my words ever can..
WORKING CONDITION:
I have cleaned, lubed and tested the locomotive and it runs and reverses just fine, the headlight works fine, the e-unit cycles flawlessly, no operational issues here at all.
COMMENTS & QUESTIONS:
If there is a problem, regardless of type, e-mail me and I will try and resolve it with you. I am both a TCA Member and LCCA Member and I do my best to describe each item accurately and my feedback indicates I usually succeed. I usually leave feedback once every 7 to 10 days and only after I have received feedback. You will ALWAYS be bidding on the actual item shown in my pictures. LOOK AT THE PICTURES, READ THE DESCRIPTIONS. You are NOT bidding on what you think the item should be or what you would like it to be you are bidding on exactly what you see in the pictures. Leaving negative feedbacks without first trying to resolve the issue is not to neither of our benefits.
Again, take a good look at all the pictures (they describe the lot better than my words can) to see exactly what you are bidding on and judge the condition of the item for yourself. Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions on this item especially as it relates to it’s condition. Ask now, not after you have won the item!
As is the case for almost all my auctions this lot is offered to you WITH NO RESERVE!
