RARE VINTAGE O SCALE MARX #1666 2-4-2 STEAM-CHEST SMOKER LOCOMOTIVE. TRACK TESTED & RUNS F/R WITH WORKING HEADLIGHT.
Marx made the steam chest smoke unit for the die cast Marx 666 steam train first, and then made this smoke unit for the Marx plastic steamer 1666.
This was the coolest and most amazing design smoke unit at the time, the only smoke unit to blow smoke out the smoke stack and at the cylinders, AKA chest of the train. Marx came out with this smoke unit around 1955.
NEEDS TO BE LUBED BEFORE EXTENSIVE USE. SMOKER IS UNTESTED (NO SMOKE FLUID). IT IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH A PLASTIC SHELL. COMES WITH MARX SANTA FE TENDER & PENN LINE SLOPE BACK TENDER. BOTH HAVE METAL BOTTOMS ARE IN VG-EX CONDITION.
