Lionel 726 Berkshire(2-8-4) Locomotive & 2046W Tender. This top of Lionel’s early postwar line locomotive has been cleaned, sanitized, completely serviced and test operated. The Locomotive motor brushes and armature face have been cleaned and polished, commutator slots have been cleaned, all carbon deposits have been removed, the direction/ Eunit has been serviced and cycles correctly for proper forward and reverse operation. The pellet type smoke generator has a new heating element and wafer , the headlamp has been rewired and a new bulb installed and functions as depicted in the photos. All linkage and running gear have been cleaned and lubricated , including those nice Baldwin disc drive wheels. Cosmetically, both classification lamps with all 4 green jewels are intact, the handrails, ornamental bell and whistle re all in very nice condition. The right rear corner of the cab roof appears to have been repaired as the paint is missing from that spot , there are some minor nicks and scratches in the paint but otherwise it’s very good . The cab numbers are intact and legible, so overall appearance is very good. The tender trucks have been serviced and rewired, the whistle motor has been serviced and the whistle is nice and loud. We’ve added an aftermarket rear light kit and the body shell is excellent with both rear steps intact and lettering is very bright.
