Lionel 258 Steam Loco Orange Stripe Prewar O Gauge X7194

Description

Early 1930’s 2-4-0 loco is 8.5” long, original black with orange stripe on frame, brass and copper trim. Frame is solid and very straight, on close inspection, pilot teeth have been replaced with epoxy build-up behind to strengthen joint. This epoxy shows as amber through small steps on side of pilot. Orange stripes show light dirt and very little wear. Boiler has some dirt and texture from age, light corrosion/texture on roof, some tarnish on trim. One pony wheel is a replacement, otherwise original wheels, very minor roughness one edge of 1 driver flange, wheels do not show fatigue. It runs a bit stiff, better when it gets going, as is, no operation warranty, has reverse switch in cab. Headlight wire is not attached, rods and wheels have minor corrosion spots. Loco only, no tender. Motor mounts on frame are incomplete, motor stays-put by friction-fit. A piece that is broken off of frame is included loose, if you want to glue it on, but motor seems tight as it is.
