    Description

    Advertising plate with transfer of Geronimo.  6" diameter, good condition, no chips or cracks, lattice rim is good condition.  Wheelock Made in Germany for Mitchell & Shearer, Oklahoma City.  Fanciful transfer of Geronimo in a costume he probably never wore.  Label says "Geronimo, Chief of Apache Tribe, Prisoner of U.S. Government at Ft. Sill, Okla."  Gilt at rim and lettering is rubbed.  Geronimo died in 1909 so this dates to early 1900s.  The only information I have found on Mitchell & Shearer dates to Oklahoma Territory days.  Shipping weight less than 1 pound.
