There is a better choice than plywood flooring.
You may not have realized it, but plywood adds unnecessary strain to your truss system. Plywood also traps heat and builds the perfect environment for mold and mildew to grow, often ending up warping and sagging. Not to mention, plywood flooring is not cut to size. This means you still have work to do once you get the plywood home and before you can even get it into your attic space. A standard attic opening is 22.5” x 54” and can be as narrow as 22.5” x 30.” Plywood is roughly 4ft. x 8ft. before any modifications are made to the sheet. That’s a tight squeeze! You would need to accurately measure your attic space and configuration prior to cutting the plywood. Then, you likely have to make those cuts somewhere other than the attic, take the piece to the attic for fitting, and hope it fits seamlessly. This is becoming quite the chore!
How about we make it easier?
With Attic Dek, you can safely carry the panels into the attic without worrying about altering the product first; Attic Dek panels are 16” x 24” fitting all standard joists. No wrestling unwieldy plywood! Then, you design your configuration and install the panels.
Additionally, Attic Dek alleviates constant use of the ladder decreasing your risk of falling or getting hurt. The screws needed to secure the panels to the joists are provided with each pack of Attic Dek. There’s simply no guessing with these DIY panels. Attic Dek panels have insets that indicate where the screws go; combine that with the open design of the panel and you can see exactly where your screw is located to ensure you are drilling directly into the joist. Plywood certainly doesn’t offer that advantage! With Attic Dek, you are in control of your DIY project. Plywood is a hassle and inconvenience. Use our alternative and start organizing today!
