2 VERY RARE ITEMS-Vintage SENIOR Girl Scout WWII GARRISON HAT-SSS PATCH 1942-PIN

This is for 2 VERY RARE WWII Items. The SENIOR SERVICE SCOUT (SSS) Patch was designed in 1941 for WWII. Girl Scouts USA developed an incentive program for Senior Girl Scouts to become more actively involved in national defense activities. After training, a Girl Scout could purchase this Special GARRISON Hat with the SSS PATCH on it. It is a heavy gabardine cotton and has the early label in it-the 2 Long Haired Girls. These are different from the newer Senior Hats that were available. It is a size 21 1/2 and in Beautiful Condition for being so old. The PIN was made in 1943 and could be earned by all levels of Scouting who are working with the local Service Bureau. The Pin is red enameled with a J Hook for closing and no major loss of paint. It has.an “R” Hallmark on the Back. I’ve had these in my collection for over 40 years. This is great to have these together in your collection.
